If the goal were to govern, they would be governing. What now seems undeniable is that the current regime in Pakistan is leading the country toward a controlled demolition.
There is no other way to explain the regime's decision-making over the past two years. They claim they want to boost the IT sector to $100 billion, yet in the same breath, they ban social media and throttle the internet using a newly acquired Chinese firewall. They profess to enhance democracy, yet they attack the parliament and abduct public representatives and their families. They also claim to promote peace and federalism, but they are conducting military operations against their own citizens in Balochistan and KP.
Under the guise of ‘governance,’ the current regime is actively dismantling Pakistan. Two years in power have provided ample evidence that govern, they can’t; let go of power, they won’t. The net result? Ungovern the country into the ground.
It is the same recipe used in other countries; Chinese Imperialism may be worse than any other, and how can a country be led in a direction with a "partner" that does not share the same vision? If Western civilization was deemed exploitative, wait, you haven't seen anything. At least the West can be blamed now; later, there would be more Empires to blame.
The net result? The obvious result is breakdown of whatever is left in the name of sanity. When charlatans become the power brokers and hubris is the only trait they have, the demise is close.
