Much of the global chaos we see today is best explained through a technology lens.
I am more than convinced now that our tech today (and what is coming in the near future) is not compatible with our existing social and political infrastructures.
That is because our tech R&D has outpaced our social and political evolution making redundant our existing concept of society and governance.
The governments around the world, instead of focusing on hard regulations and outright ban of emerging tech, would be better off to devote energies in coming up with a new concept of society and governance that is built around emerging tech, and not the other way around.
We didn't start landing the airplanes on the existing highways, we had to build an entirely new infrastructure (airports) for human to be able to fly. Airplanes didn't adjust to us; we adjusted to the new flying technology. Same has to happen for governance.
