I don’t know at what point in its evolution did the Democratic Party became an elitist club, steeped in conformist, herd-like thinking, where speaking the truth became 'disincentivized.'
Over the past year, so many of my friends within the Democratic Party that I spoke to knew all along that Biden—and later, Kamala—had little chance of winning. Yet they went along with the narrative because the cost of speaking the truth inside the party was apparently too high and nobody wanted to risk being on the 'wrong side' of the party leadership. But nobody cared that the cost of not speaking the truth would be the elections.
Unless the Democratic Party undergoes a complete overhaul, with a new, preferably younger, leadership emerging from outside the elite bubble, and integrate diversity (beyond cosmetic level), the party risks fading into irrelevance in national discourse.
